Education in America
Rights. We all have them. We were all created equal and are free to pursue, believe, teach, read, watch, and learn whatever we want. No one is going to stop you. As long as a person doesn’t break any of the very reasonable laws our government put in place, they can pretty much do whatever. But where is the line between what your rights are, and what you are so privileged to have. Where does your right to do something stop because you took it too far or not far enough? Does everyone really have the right to the best education money can buy? My answer to that? No, unless of corse they pay for it like the rest of us. Some of us are lucky in that our parents worked hard through life and paid thousands of dollars each year in property taxes to pay for the awesome school that nurtured growth in every aspect of learning. Some children are born into a life that is not so fortunate. Should he get everything that the kid from the good side of the tracks has? He has all the same rights, no segregation there. So what it really comes down to is money. A person does not want to work hard through life to ensure they have a future, so they don’t, and they live in poverty, and they have a kid, then its oh crap, give us money so our children can have an amazing school. Your child should get an education, we all have the right to one. But why should those that worked hard in their life to ensure a good future for their children have to pay for your child too? That doesn’t seem fair. There is nothing stopping parents from making a better life for their children, except maybe themselves. It is bullshit for someone to think that every child should get the same education in life just because we all have equal rights. If that was the case, then why not the same clothes, the same phone, the same everything. Where is the line with what we are entitled to and what we have the right to pursue if we so desire. For some there is no line. To them their child’s education should be as good as the one that those rich people paid into. Yea, that seems fair. That person should also get a new car to take their kid to school in, more money to buy them clothes, and free school supplies. That sounds good, equal right all round. Better everything for those that don’t have it already and less for those who do. That what will start as soon as the so called rights become privileges. We cant all have everything just handed to us. Some get lucky and get to go to a better school right from the start, but somewhere along the line someone paid for it, made it so that their children had more. If you are not in a good school now, then you should probably get to work and make your life better, it is well within your rights.
