Purpose of this blog

This blog is a required tool for English 101, it is a way to practice writing with a quick turn around on feedback. This is a teaching aid I have been hearing more about from friends and I am skeptical about using the internet in the fashion. But I feel that if I use it properly it can be a useful mechanism for bouncing ideas around with my peers and instructor. There will be several posts with possible topic ideas, rough drafts of narratives, and final drafts of papers I have written for class. I have spent most of my life thinking about engineering, not writing, that is why comments are allowed and appreciate as long as they are constructive criticism. Overall this blog should be a useful tool in the successful construction of epic works.
The first assignment is a narrative on an educational experience, a story about a time I learned somthing. My intention is to build on an experience by posting paragraphs of the short narrative for comments on how the writing can be improved, or how the topic is or isn’t interesting enough to draw a reader in. This method I feel should give me the constructive criticism I need to make a decent paper, even though I really don’t know much of anything about writing.
